Details Of The Author: sometimes the kārikās of Kāvyaprakāśa are wrongly attributed to him. H. R. Divekar in his article “Quelsues sūtras de Bharata” (JA. Vol. 215 (July ̶ Dec. 1929) 314 ̶ 18) reproduces 10 sūtras of Bharata quoted by Māṇikya ̶ candra in his C. Saṅketa on Kāvyaprakāśa. The writer picks out from the present Nāṭyaśāstra, the ten verses corresponding to the ten sūtras, points out that the verses seem to be elaborations of the sūtras, and poses the question whether the original Nāṭyaśāstra was in sūtra form.
